The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the conflict between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for materialism in Showalter's delightfully tacky film adaptation regarding the shamed televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. Garfield acts as the greedy Jim, who declares at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. The couple commence capitalizing on the people's spiritual convictions. It's an extravaganza of poor styling, bad makeup and hypocrisy, yet Chastain succeeds to show the character in a likable light. Tuesday 14 October, 1.15am, on Film4
